We add the magic, build an atmosphere, create the stuff that dreams are made of

It's been a while.....

We were there at the birth of the R&V festival but then took a back seat, supplying only equipment for five years. As the festival grew, the number of stages increased to seven and it became more complex. It became too large a job for one outfit to manage effectively, so Oceania took over the main stage this year. This allowed us to focus on the one area and headline acts while others dealt with the site as a whole.

Micah Hetrick took the Head of Lighting role, Joel Stanners was in charge of systems and programming, while Don McCullum did rigging – and by all accounts they smashed it, bringing in the New Year in style with the R&V team.

The festival rig comprised three trusses at staggered heights plus a scenic truss. These were fitted with Varilite VL3000 spots, Mac2000 wash, Atomics and scrollers, ClayPaky Sharpies, 4-lite and Duet Molefay, LED battens and Source 6 profiles.

The floor rig was reconfigured every day and used a mix of Martin Aura LEDs, Atomics, Mac2000 wash, Cyberlights and LED pars.

For control, the team had Hog3 and Chamsis desks. Good programming was the secret in the varied and saturated looks the boys delivered with the international LDs.

In the words of Al Green, Festival Creative Design & Production Manager.....
"The degree of quality planning , professional service towards R&V and artists , plus the smooth professionalism of the onsite Oceania Lighting team was really appreciated by myself and the R&V production crew.
Thank you guys;it was a pleasure having you part of R&V ."
